Addi was your typical active and healthy six-year old. She started Kindergarten in the fall of 2014 and soon after, began complaining off and on of leg pain. The day after she returned home, her parents, took her to her pediatrician who, suspecting appendicitis, sent her for a CT scan. Sarah was approaching her 13th birthday when she was diagnosed with a Ewing’s Sarcoma tumor in her right leg. She began treatment and completed 14 rounds of chemotherapy in April of 2010. Sarah had tumor removal surgery where a large portion of her femur was removed and replaced with a cadaver bone and plate. Grace fought bone cancer for four years. She lost her leg because of cancer, but she found peace and comfort in the water. She was a member of the U.S. Paralympic Swim Team. In 2017, she swam a mile for Swim Across America. She beat one of her doctors by five minutes! She always had a positive attitude, and she would lend a helping hand whenever she could.
