Blood Cancer

Rocco

Rocco

His parents write, “Rocco was originally diagnosed with a Wilms tumor on his kidney. After beginning Wilms therapy and a partial nephrectomy we discovered that he has Burkitts lymphoma. Burkitts lymphoma has almost never presented with a tumor in the kidneys. This is all a mystery to us and the doctors, but not the One who created him. Bristol

Bristol is 2 years old. Last October, he started running a fever along with a runny nose and cough so we took him to our local ER and they did labs and his WBC came back extremely high so we was then transferred to the Children’s hospital where it was confirmed he had Leukemia. Riley

Riley

It was the last game of T-ball. Riley was doing what he loved most, playing with “his boys.” He came in the dugout halfway through the game not well enough to finish. Completely out of character for my son. We pushed him to go back out but realized something was different. The following week he was diagnosed with strep. Another week went by and Riley showed no improvement and we began to worry. After bloodwork through our pediatrician we were referred to CHOA with concerns of Leukemia. It was...
