Carson was an active healthy child who loved playing sports. Especially, baseball. After experiencing some headaches and double vision, his parents took him to several doctors. On June 24, 2016, Doctors found a tumor in Carson’s brain stem. He was diagnosed with Diffused Intrisic Pontine Glioma(DIPG). July 17, 2014, three days after her first birthday, Caroline was diagnosed with a Grade 1 Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma (JPA). Caroline was diagnosed on Feb. 4, 2017 with a brain tumor called Anaplastic Ependymoma. Her family was told that if she survived surgery, she’d likely be paralyzed on her left side and blind. Her neurosurgeon was able to remove the entire tumor. Caroline successfully came through the surgery with no issues, which the doctors said was truly a miracle. On May 18, I received a phone call from the elementary school stating that Cadence had yet another headache and was vomiting. I picked her up from school and took her to the medical center in Macon. I told them that I wasn’t leaving until they did some kind of brain scan to determine what was causing the headaches. They did an MRI. The doctor came in and sat next to me and informed me that Cadence had a “mass” on her pituitary gland. After that, all I heard was “Blah blah blah… Hospital, now!”...
