Rally Kid Brielle: A Little Girl with Big Dreams and an Even Bigger Fight

by | Nov 18, 2024

Brielle is a bright, beautiful 8-year-old who loves working on craft projects, dancing around the house and surrounding herself with all things pink and purple. Like most kids her age, she dreams of playing with her siblings, going to school and simply being a kid. But instead, Brielle’s dreams have been interrupted by something no child should ever have to endure: cancer.

When Brielle was 4 years old, her family’s world turned upside down when she was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma. Two years of intense treatments followed — surgeries, chemotherapy and countless hospital stays. Despite it all, Brielle remained resilient, fighting her way to remission. When she reached the end of her treatment protocol, her family was filled with hope when she rang the bell and was declared cancer-free!

For 22 beautiful months, Brielle got to live the life of a normal child again. But just as her family began to believe they had left cancer behind, they were hit with devastating news: the cancer had returned, and with a vengeance.

The toll of cancer on Brielle’s family.

Brielle’s family has been through so much. Her parents have had to stay strong, balancing the care of Brielle’s three younger siblings with the reality of living in and out of hospitals. Brielle must receive specialized care only offered in another state. They must pack up each time, dividing the family as well as taking an emotional and financial toll.

Brielle’s siblings, too, have been deeply impacted by her illness. They miss having their big sister around to play. Brielle’s mom and dad want nothing more than for their family to be whole again, living under the same roof without the shadow of cancer looming over them. They want to celebrate birthdays and holidays together. Cancer disrupts every part of life, turning everyday routines upside down.

And Brielle? She just wants to be a regular kid again. She dreams of sleepovers, going to school with her friends and days filled with laughter. Her motto says it best: #WeFight!

Through it all, Rally Foundation has been there.

Despite these challenges, Brielle and her family aren’t fighting alone. The Rally Foundation team has been by their side every step of the way, offering emotional support, financial assistance and even some much-needed moments of joy. Brielle lights up whenever her Rally friends visit her in the hospital, especially when they bring her new Legos! Rally’s presence has become a source of comfort for the whole family, reminding them that they are not alone in this fight.

With your help, that fight can lead to better outcomes, more treatments and, one day, cures. Rally Foundation is working tirelessly to fund research that will bring an end to childhood cancer, so that families like Brielle’s don’t have to endure the heartache of relapsed cancer.
