Every Dollar Matters

Rally funded Dr. Kraveka’s preclinical neuroblastoma studies that led to FDA approval of DFMO.

At Rally, every single dollar given is precious and taken very seriously.

We believe: This could be the dollar that helps cure childhood cancer. And we mean it.

In 2008, that belief was validated when an independent audit confirmed that 93 cents of every dollar donated was going directly to our mission, funding better treatments with fewer long-term side effects for kids fighting cancer.

We were very proud, and it became our standard.

And here’s the part that means the most to us: we’ve never dropped below that 93 cents. Not once. Not in 17 years.

Through recessions, a pandemic and the challenges that come with growth, we’ve held the line.

We continue to take every dollar given very seriously. Always have. Always will.

With 93¢ of every dollar going directly to the mission, Rally funded Dr. Kraveka’s preclinical neuroblastoma studies that led to FDA approval of DFMO and supported Dr. Gregory Friedman’s brain tumor vaccine, which is now in a phase II clinical trial.

Our commitment to trust and transparency has earned us some of the highest honors a nonprofit can receive year after year, for nearly two decades.

  • In 2007, Rally was named one of America’s Best Charities, an honor awarded to only a small fraction of nonprofits nationwide.
  • In 2013, we received our first 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the highest possible. We’ve earned it every year since.
  • In 2017, when the program launched, Rally earned the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid and we’ve maintained that top rating every year since.
  • In 2022, Charity Navigator awarded us a perfect score of 100, placing Rally in the top 1% of charities nationwide, a score we’ve proudly earned every year since.

These ratings reflect something we’ve built deliberately: a culture of accountability, integrity and stewardship. Behind every high score is a choice we’ve made to stretch every dollar to stay lean, stay focused and stay mission-driven.

And those dollars? They’ve added up.

Since that first $5,000 grant given in a driveway, Rally Foundation has awarded $40.5 million in research funding through 683 grants in the U.S. and around the world. Nearly half of the projects we’ve funded have gone on to receive federal grants and 25% have progressed to clinical trials. Some are leading to new treatments.

All because people gave and they gave with confidence. One dollar at a time

We know what’s possible when dollars are trusted, protected, and put to work. We’ve seen what can happen when people give with open hearts and we match that generosity with fierce responsibility.

Because every dollar counts.

This is the power of people.

This is the power of purpose.

This is Rally.
