Pope High School's annual football fundraiser held in memory of a late Greyhounds player, Matt Hobby, was a tremendous success. The event raised over $29,000 from the sales of a special T-shirt, which is redesigned annually for the occasion. Since the inception of the Matt Hobby Classic in 2006, over $400,000 has been raised for pediatric cancer research through the Rally Foundation. This year's event was co-chaired by Rylee Johnson and Lisa Aldridge.
Fox 5 In Your Face Sports covered the Matt Hobby Classic at Pope High School in Marietta, GA. The annual event is dedicated to honoring Matt Hobby, who passed away from Ewing’s Sarcoma in 2006. This year’s game raised more than $27,000, pushing the total funds raised since 2006 to more than $400,000. Proceeds support the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, continuing the legacy of Matt Hobby through impactful fundraising efforts.
