A Journey of Resilience: Brielle’s Fight Against Cancer

by | Oct 28, 2024

At just 4 years old, Brielle’s life took a turn no child should ever experience. What began as stomach pains and backaches quickly turned into a nightmare for her family. They feared the worst—perhaps arthritis or scoliosis—but nothing could have prepared them for the devastating diagnosis of high-risk Stage 4 neuroblastoma.

This news came in 2020, during the pandemic, adding an extra layer of complication to an already overwhelming situation. Brielle’s treatments were grueling—her family had to travel across state lines each time she needed care. And for a little girl who loved all things pink and purple, the loss of her hair was one of the hardest parts.

But Brielle, true to her fighting spirit, embraced her journey with courage and grace. Through six rounds of chemotherapy, two bone marrow transplants, twelve rounds of radiation, and six rounds of immunotherapy, she remained positive. She even coined her own battle motto: #WeFight.

After two long years of treatment, Brielle finally rang the bell—cancer-free. She returned to school, reunited with her friends, and embraced life as a joyful 6-year-old.

But in a cruel twist, 22 months later, the unthinkable happened. Brielle’s cancer returned.

Her family’s world shattered once more. “I hope you never have to tell your child that the cancer is back,” her mother shared. “When is there ever a good time to say, ‘We are going to fight this again’? Never.”

Now, at 8 years old, Brielle is enduring the harsh reality of relapsed neuroblastoma. The treatments are intense, and the side effects are brutal. She spends weeks at a time in the hospital, but even in the midst of her battle, she finds joy in building Legos, creating art, and playing with the friends she’s made along her journey.

At home, Brielle loves dancing, playing with her siblings Rixton, Kinzley, and Knox, and immersing herself in the world of Barbies. Her family and community rally around her, offering love and support every step of the way.

But Brielle’s fight isn’t over—and neither is the fight for all children battling cancer. Childhood cancer research is severely underfunded, and we need to accelerate progress. That’s why Rally Foundation is dedicated to funding the most promising research to find better treatments and, ultimately, cures.

Your donation today could be the difference in giving kids like Brielle a future beyond cancer. Together, we fight for Brielle. Together, we fight for all kids facing cancer.
