Madeline first complained of arm pain in the winter of 2017. After an urgent care visit, she was referred to the ED at Scottish Rite. Once they ruled out “all the scary stuff,” we were told to follow up with our pediatrician if Madeline did not begin to feel better. The pediatrician referred us to an orthopedist. After some slow improvement of what the doctors thought was torticollis, an MRI was ordered. On January 29, 2018 they found a tumor around her spinal cord. A biopsy was done and chemo started. Madeline is currently recovering in the rehab unit at Scottish Rite and is continuing her treatments.

Every child who has been diagnosed with childhood cancer inspires us to Rally On to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures. Please join us in the fight against childhood cancer by making a donation or setting up your own Rally fundraiser today.
