In May 2023, Madelyn, or Maddie, had been complaining of headaches for about a month. At first, they were sporadic and then increased in severity and frequency. Maddie started vomiting one night which led her to the ER. After a blood panel and CT scan were performed, they discovered a lesion on the back of her brain. Maddie was diagnosed with medulloblastoma and underwent brain surgery to resect the tumor. She is completing 30 rounds of proton therapy radiation and then will proceed with 7 rounds of chemotherapy.
