In 2018, Jiyah noticed a spot on her leg that was causing some discomfort. She went to the hospital, where she was then sent to numerous other doctors to try to figure out what it was. Eventually, she was diagnosed with a rare form of alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. Jiyah had surgery to remove the spot and was in remission for 5 months, until it metastasized. She has been fighting this beast on and off for 5 years with a very intense chemotherapy treatment.
