Just a month after Gavin’s 7th birthday, his mother took him to the ER due to persistent stomach pains. He was sent home with acid reflux medicine, only for the pain to become more severe later into the night. Gavin went back to the ER where blood work was done, showing immature and abnormal cells. On July 28, 2021, Gavin was officially diagnosed with B-Cell ALL.
