When Isaiah was 3 years old, we noticed a red spot on his cheek that looked like a small mole. Our local dermatologist removed it and sent it to pathology, assuring us that kids never get melanoma. A few days before Christmas, we got a call that the pathology reports indicated melanoma. The slides were forwarded to MD Anderson, and in January, we headed to Houston, TX. Isaiah’s first surgery was to remove the remaining melanoma on his face and under his skin, and to remove a lymph node to test for metastasis. Even though the spot on his face was tiny, the tumor underneath went from his eye socket to his jaw bone.

Every child who has been diagnosed with childhood cancer inspires us to Rally On to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures. Please join us in the fight against childhood cancer by making a donation or setting up your own Rally fundraiser today.
