James went to the doctor for a cough on Monday, December 19, 2016; a day I will never forget. I wanted him feeling better for the Christmas break and the doctor thought he had pneumonia. Unfortunately the x-ray showed a mediastinal mass. James was directly admitted to Sacred Heart Nemours and then flown to Wolfson Childrens Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. On December 23, 2016 James started is chemotherapy treatment. He will have four cycles of chemotherapy for five days in hospital treatment. On Christmas day we were visited by family and James received a letter of acceptance from Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) along with a scholarship. James is being home bound schooled until he is able to return to school, which if all goes as planned will be after spring break and graduate with honors in May.
