University of California San Francisco – Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Neurosurgery

Dr. Mueller is a pediatric neuro-oncologist who specializes in caring for children with brain tumors and related genetic syndromes. She leads the pediatric brain tumor program at UCSF and serves as one of the leads of the pediatric malignancy program of the UCSF Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Mueller is a co-founder and project leader of the Pacific Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium, which is a network of children’s hospitals focused on clinical trials of personalized medicine – therapies that are specific to the biology of each patient’s tumor.

Dr. Mueller earned her medical degree at the Universität Hamburg Faculty of Medicine and earned a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology in collaboration with AGY. After a residency in pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital, she completed a fellowship in pediatric oncology at UCSF. Before completing medical school, she worked as a scientist, director of genomics, and project leader for a brain tumor program at AGY Therapeutics, a biotechnology company in South San Francisco.
