Dr. Bernstock is a neurosurgeon at Brigham and Women’s and Boston Children’s Hospitals who intends to specialize in pediatric neurosurgical oncology. With adamantine certainty, his life is dedicated to translational science and medicine and it is his driving desire to improve outcomes for children with brain tumors by developing and improving novel, targeted therapies. Dr. Bernstock has diverse medical/surgical knowledge with unique expertise in the repositioning of approved drugs and the development/characterization of novel/experimental immunotherapeutics.

Dr. Bernstock completed his MD at the University of Alabama Birmingham and PhD at the University of Cambridge under the auspices of the NIH-Oxford Cambridge Scholars Program. He continued to work on basic and translational immunotherapy projects related to pediatric neuro-oncology and participated in the first-in-children trial of intratumoraloHSV in recurrent supratentorial malignant brain tumors, and first-in-human trial of intratumoraloHSV in recurrent cerebellar tumors.
