St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – Surgeon

Dr. Talbot is a board-certified pediatric surgeon at the Assistant Member level at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Clinically, her expertise is in limb salvage and metastatic disease control in bony and soft tissue sarcomas. She is clinically integrated with all sarcoma patients undergoing operative intervention in the primary and metastatic settings at St. Jude. Dr. Tolbert has a 75% protected research commitment, and her laboratory is embedded within the Department of Bone Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy, where she investigates cell therapy and immuno-oncology for pediatric solid tumors, including specifically the role of chemokine-mediated homing of CAR T cells to metastatic tumor sites.

She completed her undergraduate degrees in English Language, Spanish Language, and Biology at North Carolina State University, and her medical school training at Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Talbot’s General Surgery residence was completed at Duke University, followed by Surgical Critical Care fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Pediatric Surgery fellowship at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital.
