Dr. Shim is an instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. She serves as a pediatric hematologist and oncologist at Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Shim’s current research interests center on improving our understanding of the genetics and tumor microenvironment of high-risk neuroblastoma and identifying targetable therapeutic agents that will improve long-term survival. Her basic/translational research focuses on neuroblastoma therapy resistance and the Hippo/YAPpathway.

Dr. Shim received her Medical Degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. She completed her pediatric residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She attended Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, to complete her fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology.
