Dr. Knoechel is a physician-scientist and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, where she holds the Ryan and Ashley Smith Presidential Chair in Pediatric Cancer. Her research focuses on investigating epigenetic dependencies and their implications for cancer cell plasticity and the immune microenvironment in lymphoid malignancies, with the goal to design the next generation of immunotherapies.
She received her MD and PhD degrees from Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, Germany, completed her pediatric residency at University of California San Francisco and a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplantation at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children’s Hospital.
