University of Alabama at Birmingham – Distinguished Professor; Vice-Chair of Outcomes, UAB Pediatrics; Gay and Bew White Endowed Chair in Pediatric Oncology; Director, Institute for Cancer Outcomes and Survivorship
Dr. Bhatia’s current focus is to establish a comprehensive program for cancer outcomes and survivorship research at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). This program will reduce the burden of cancer and its sequelae across all segments of the population through collaborative interdisciplinary, interventional, and educational efforts in Pediatrics and other Departments. She also serves as the Associate Chair for the Children’s Oncology Group, coordinating survivorship research across 200 pediatric oncology institutions in the U.S. Dr. Bhatia is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
Dr. Bhatia is a graduate of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi where she also completed her residency. She completed her fellowship at the University of Minnesota and was a professor at City of Hope before moving to UAB.
