Dr. Tsai is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC), Attending Physician in Pediatric Neuro Oncology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), and Full Member in the Epigenetic Regulation in Cancer Program at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Tsai Laboratory in the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute at CHLA studies the genomic and epigenetic drivers of pediatric brain tumors with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes for childhood cancer. The lab focuses on identifying novel dependencies and harnessing a toolbox of approaches – including molecular neurobiology, functional genomics, transcriptomics, cancer biology, and proteomics – to better identify therapeutic targets.
Dr. Tsai received her MD and PhD from the Medical Scientist Training Program at Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center, followed by her clinical fellowship and postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children’s Hospital. She joined the faculty at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Keck School of Medicine of USC in 2024.
