Faith’s Cancer Journey

Faith Johnson’s senior year of high school was off to a great start. She was Senior Class President, had been crowned Homecoming Queen and was eagerly applying to many colleges around the country. However, she had been plagued by intermittent fevers, terrible knee pain and fatigue. On November 11, 2020, after visiting a plethora of specialists, she received the devastating diagnosis that she had acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She was immediately admitted to the Aflac Cancer Center at Egleston to begin a two and a half year protocol of treatment. For the first 10 months she had to go to Aflac at least once a week for chemotherapy. On September 15, 2021, the day before leaving for the University of California, Santa Barabara, she finished her frontline treatment and began maintenance. Faith completed her chemotherapy treatment on March 3, 2023. She is a rising junior at UCSB and plans to attend dental school when she graduates!
