June Is National Cancer Survivors Month and Infertility Awareness Month

by | Jun 1, 2026

June is National Cancer Survivors Month, a time when Rally Foundation honors the strength and resilience of survivors of childhood cancer. It is also Infertility Awareness Month, bringing attention to one of the many long-term side effects survivors may face after treatment.

Today, more children are surviving cancer because of advancements in research. But survivorship often comes with lifelong challenges, including heart and lung disease, learning disabilities, secondary cancers and infertility.

These are realities no child should have to face.

Why This Matters at Rally

At Rally, survivorship is about more than beating cancer. It is about helping kids live healthy, full lives after treatment.

That is why our mission is to fund research focused on better treatments with fewer long-term side effects. Children deserve therapies that not only save lives, but also protect their futures.

Amanda’s Story

In honor of Infertility Awareness Month, also in June, we are sharing part of Rally Kid Amanda’s journey.

Amanda was diagnosed with stage 4B classical Hodgkin lymphoma during her junior year of high school in 2021. After beating cancer and starting college, she later experienced a relapse during her junior year and had to begin treatment again.

Along the way, Amanda faced another difficult reality of those treatments: the possibility of infertility. She made the incredibly difficult decision to delay treatment in order to pursue fertility preservation. Throughout that journey, she openly shared the emotional and physical challenges that came with it, giving others an honest look at the weight of this decision while navigating cancer for a second time. Amanda has become a strong advocate for others facing childhood cancer and is now officially a two-time cancer survivor.

Her story is a reminder that infertility is another burden many childhood cancer patients and survivors are forced to carry.
