Sarah was diagnosed with ALL on July 20, 2016. Her diagnosis came after two months of unexplained symptoms and normal lab work. Thankfully, her pediatrician referred us to a pediatric rheumatologist thinking it may be lupus or juvenile RA. The rheumatologist immediately partnered with hematology/oncology and less than an hour later we were told Sarah had leukemia and by the next day, it was confirmed that it was Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Sarah has overcome many obstacles her in her life. Sarah was born with a heart murmur (closed at age 2), seizures starting at 6 months old (now controlled on medication), she is also diagnosed with an intellectual disability but none of these things, including the cancer diagnosis, have changed how Sarah sees the world or who she is. She is exactly who God created her to be-loving, sweet, sassy, funky, confident, shy until she knows you, most of all she’s an overcomer! Sarah’s positive attitude about life is an encouragement to all who know and love her!

Every child who has been diagnosed with childhood cancer inspires us to Rally On to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures. Please join us in the fight against childhood cancer by making a donation or setting up your own Rally fundraiser today.
