Project Description

Stella B.

In November 2016, Stella stopped walking overnight and complained of leg pain. She regained walking within a week but in December the same events occurred. We spent days in the hospital with every test and specialist trying to find out what was wrong and they were leaning towards JRA, after having a bone biopsy taken out of her left ankle and a bone marrow aspiration. It was not until January 18, after two more bone marrow aspirations that Stella was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. We were admitted January 23, central port was surgically placed into her chest and start round 1 of a total of 4 rounds of chemotherapy. She was inpatient until May 29 with an exception of 13 spread out days during that time frame. She went through treatment never losing her sass and spunk and always made everyone happy to be around! She is still NED and we praise GOD every day for our added time with our warrior princess!
