Phoebe was born with WAGR Syndrome (www.wagr.org), and she is truly our one in a million as this syndrome only affects about 450 people worldwide. She has aniridia which means that she does not have an iris, causing extreme light sensitivity along with other eye issues. She has low vision and receives therapy through the Center for the Visually Impaired’s Begin Program. She also has some other developmental delays, but is an overall very happy baby! She loves listening to music and playing with her dogs. On August 30, 2018, Phoebe was diagnosed with a Wilm’s tumor which is a kind of kidney cancer which presents in approximately 50% of WAGR patients. Phoebe is currently receiving chemotherapy treatment at the AFLAC Cancer Center at Scottish Rite. She is such a fighter.
