Project Description

Jase

Jase was just your average 2 year old up until February 10, 2019. He loves to ride his truck and to be outside and play with his dogs. On that day, he woke up like every other morning, but he told his father he needed to throw up. He was taken to the bathroom where he started to lose his balance and he was making strange noises. His whole body tensed up, so his parents rushed him to the hospital. Jase lost consciousness in the car, though he came to as they arrived at the hospital. Several blood samples were taken and he was transferred to Sacred Heart Hospital where more blood was drawn. Once the results were confirmed, the oncologist came in and told them Jase had leukemia. More testing confirmed the type of leukemia the following day, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He has been in the hospital since February 10th, suffering a stroke one week after his leukemia diagnosis. The stroke was on the right side of his brain, causing weakness on his left side. He has regained movement in his left arm but still does not have movement in his left leg. Jase is working with Physical and Occupational Therapy while receiving chemotherapy in the hospital.
