October 16, 2017 we took Crispin to his pediatrician because he didn’t seem to be getting any better after being diagnosed with strep throat a week earlier. The doctor ordered a CBC blood test and told us he would call us later that day with results. That afternoon he called to let us know that the hematology/oncology doctors at Sacred Heart were waiting for us because Crispin’s blood level was extremely low and he would need a blood transfusion. They also said that they would be testing Crispin for Leukemia. October 17 is when our lives were changed. We got confirmation that our son had type-B ALL leukemia. We spent the next 11 days in Sacred Heart. November 21 we received the call letting us know that Crispin was in remission. Praise the Lord! Although we still have a journey ahead of us to keep him in remission the Lord has truly blessed Crispin.

Every child who has been diagnosed with childhood cancer inspires us to Rally On to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures. Please join us in the fight against childhood cancer by making a donation or setting up your own Rally fundraiser today.
