Alex was born with multiple physical abnormalities and ate through a g-tube for his first year and a half. He was diagnosed with Wildervanck Syndrome when he was one. It is a rare x linked genetic disorder that is particularly fatal for young boys, they typically do not live past birth. Alex has beat the odds since day one! On December 15, 2015, Alex was rushed 5 hours north from our hometown to Atlanta where he received the diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Anemia Type T. Our journey takes us along that 5 hour drive once a week. These weekly trips will continue through December. Once Alex reaches the maintenance phase, we will make monthly trips for three and a half more years.
