Addi is 2 years old and lives with her aunt, uncle and cousin. She has been a very healthy child with no past history of illness until she woke up on August 19, 2018 with severe side pain. Her family took her to Scottish Rite in Atlanta for what they thought was appendicitis. After a CT scan, the doctor informed them that she did not have appendicitis, but instead she had a large tumor on her kidney that wrapped around her adrenal gland. Addi was admitted immediately, and after two weeks of testing, it was determined that she has neuroblastoma high risk Stage 4, a solid tumor cancer. She immediately began an 18-24 month aggressive treatment plan that will consist of chemotherapy, surgery to remove tumor, 2 stem cell transplants, radiation and immunotherapy.
