Paislee’s mom, Audrey, took her daughter to the local ER on September, 20, 2019 for what she thought was severe constipation. Little did she know that the doctors would actually find masses in Paislee’s stomach and lungs. Paislee was immediately transported via ambulance to a children’s hospital over an hour away, where many additional scans and tests were run. There, it was discovered that Paislee had a Wilms tumor on her kidney.

On October 1, Paislee was again transported via ambulance—this time to a children’s hospital in Jacksonville—to receive proton radiation on her abdomen. Audrey and Paislee remained in Jacksonville, nearly five hours away, for two weeks during this round of treatment. They have since returned for radiation on Paislee’s lungs. Paislee is also receiving chemotherapy at her local children’s hospital, which is still an hour from home.

Audrey is a proud single mother but she has faced financial challenges due to Paislee’s diagnosis and all of the travel associated with her treatment. Paislee is still a happy little girl who loves the beach, swimming, Barbies and unicorns. Together they are relying on hope and prayer, as well as supportive friends and family, to get through this difficult time.
