Up until his cancer diagnosis at age six, Easton had been a healthy child who loved to fish and build things. He was taken to the pediatrician due to unexplained red spots, bruising, headaches and fatigue. After blood test results raised concern, Easton’s family was referred to the local children’s hospital. It was there that Easton was officially diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Easton underwent surgery to place his port and immediately began the first of several weeks of chemotherapy. His family also learned he had high-risk ALL which would require a stronger treatment plan. There have already been many inpatient hospital stays due to viruses and infections; anytime Easton runs a fever it can be serious because his immune system is so low.

Easton has reached the maintenance phase of treatment, but he will continue receiving chemotherapy until 2023. His family has a long journey ahead and they are relying on faith to get them through the hard days. Even through the stress of cancer treatment during a pandemic, Easton has been very strong. He is a hero to his family.
