In early October 2022, Lane had been suffering from intense headaches for a few weeks. He tested positive for mono and they thought that was the cause. The headaches became so severe, a CT scan was done and this revealed a tumor on his cerebellum. Lane has had 30 radiation treatments on his brain and spine and started chemotherapy in February 2023. Despite his aggressive treatment plan, Lane has continued doing things he loves. Lane is a wonderful author; writing a newspaper for his neighborhood that featured a cover story about his diagnosis, advice column, and an editorial section.
