Jude is a very active, athletic kid that loves baseball, basketball and lacrosse. During his middle school baseball season, we noticed a small limp while he was running. We took him to see an orthopedist and before we left that appointment, we knew this was serious. Then the doctor told us that Jude had osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer.

Within a week of the diagnosis, we were getting MRIs, VT scans and baseline hearing tests. What a whirlwind. Jude took the news head on and has been positive throughout the treatment. He began chemotherapy in mid-March and underwent surgery to remove the tumor in his leg. The surgery took out part of his leg, and he learned to walk and run in a prosthetic leg. The most important thing to Jude was that he would be able to play baseball again.

Jude returned to the baseball field in May 2018, a little over a year after his initial diagnosis. He continues to fight hard and Rally On!

Every child who has been diagnosed with childhood cancer inspires us to Rally On to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures. Please join us in the fight against childhood cancer by making a donation or setting up your own Rally fundraiser today.
