In late July 2021, Evan started to complain of an ongoing terrible headache, was nauseous daily, and uncharacteristically fatigued. After a particularly severe vomiting episode, Evan was taken to the emergency room, where his doctor discovered a large brain tumor above his brain stem. He was immediately helicoptered to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. Evan was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma subgroup M3. As if things couldn’t get any crazier, he was recovering from brain surgery and awaiting radiation when New Orleans was hit hard by Hurricane Ida. Thankfully, Children’s Hospital is a fortress and Evan was in good hands. Evan has a strong, determined mentality to work hard to recover and “kick cancer’s butt.”
Every child who has been diagnosed with childhood cancer inspires us to Rally On to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures. Please join us in the fight against childhood cancer by making a donation or setting up your own Rally fundraiser today.
