Clate was diagnosed his Junior year of college after playing an entire season of baseball with a lump on his neck. On the day of his first chemotherapy, he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox but had to decline to finish treatment. After returning to school once chemotherapy was over, he graduated with a degree in sports management and then was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 20th round.
Every child who has been diagnosed with childhood cancer inspires us to Rally On to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures. Please join us in the fight against childhood cancer by making a donation or setting up your own Rally fundraiser today.
