Before his first birthday, Rally Kid Cameron had already endured eight weeks in the NICU AND heart surgery to prepare a hole in his heart. He had eleven normal months alongside his twin brother, James, then began having extreme pain in his hip and eye. After a long back-and-forth process, Cameron was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma. He started chemotherapy right away and had his tumor removed after the first dose of chemo. He went through six rounds of chemo, twelve rounds of radiation, surgery, immunotherapy and a double stem cell transplant. He then went on to a trial drug out of North Carolina, to try to prevent a relapse. Today, Cameron is almost 12 years old, in middle school and doing great!! The chemo took some of his hearing, but he deals with it with grace. He is a straight A student and just recently started his own business- making and selling hot chocolate bombs- with his twin brother.
