This event is held in honor of Ryder Ewing, who just four months shy of her second birthday, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After more than a year of chemotherapy and numerous other therapies to help her relearn everything, Ryder is cancer free today!
Whether you plan on racing, jogging, or just walking the 5 Kilometer course, join us for the 3rd Annual Ryder 5K, as we “Rally” together for the third year in a row to celebrate Ryder’s life and our cause to find a cure for childhood cancer. Following the 5K, there will be a fall festival including lots of fun games and activities for participants to take part in.
In the past two years, we have raised over $31,000 in honor of Ryder and have had about 330 participants cross the finish line. This being the third year, we aim to honor Ryder in “threes” in hopes to raise $30,000, have 300 participants, involve 33 supportive sponsors, and most importantly, continue to fund research specific to Ryder’s tumor to give her a parachute for the future.
Prior to the event, there will be many fundraising nights hosted at local businesses in support of the Ryder 5K. Check out a schedule below to see if there’s one that you can come out to!
Marlow’s Tavern of East Cobb: May 24th, Last Day of School Happy Hour, from 3:00 PM onward; part of the proceeds for the night will benefit Ryder’s race.
Marlow’s Tavern of East Cobb: September 9th-14th, Ryder’s “Favorite Things” Week, tickets will be made available for purchase
