Nicole Chitty

Community Development Manager

Nicole Shropshire Chitty - As Community Development Manager, Nicole is responsible for coordinating fundraisers, event planning, speaking engagements, helping with grant writing proposals, and overseeing Rally’s internship program.

Prior to joining the team at Rally, Nicole served as a YMCA camp director responsible for staff management, programs, discipline and parent communications, all within a tight budget. She has volunteered as a Project Uplift big sister to teenage girls and served on mission trips targeting underprivileged children in Romania, Kenya and throughout the United States. Through these life experiences Nicole developed a passion for advocating for children in need of a champion for their cause, children who do not enjoy the resources and support to stand up for themselves.

Since joining the Rally staff in January 2007, Nicole has assisted in launching the Rally Athletes program where athletes participate in an athletic event and raise money for the Rally Foundation in honor of a Rally Kid while receiving expert coaching and training. The Rally Athletes program raised more than $175,000 in its first two training teams and has expanded to include three marathon training teams attracting runners from across the country and Canada. Nicole has also helped to grow Rally’s 4 Quarters 4 Research program to include fundraisers run by community groups, schools, sports teams and businesses in several states. Nicole also served on Georgia’s first statewide cancer survivorship conference planning committee.

Nicole holds a BA in Communications with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University. She is married to Steven Chitty, a childhood cancer survivor, who is a youth minister.
