Claire Olson

Rally Kid Coordinator

Claire Olson is uniquely qualified to serve as the Rally Kid Coordinator. During her brother’s four year battle with childhood cancer, Claire met countless other children and families, each with their own inspiring stories to tell. Each family also understood the need to fund childhood cancer research. Claire is able to use her personal experiences and knowledge about childhood cancer to support the Rally Kids and their families while sharing their stories with Rally supporters. The Rally Kids are the faces of childhood cancer and the children’s inspiring stories help communities to develop a personal connection to childhood cancer and rally to raise money for research.

Claire initially joined the Rally team as the Rally Across America Campaign Director, coordinating hospital visits, host families, fundraisers and Rally Across America Kids for the summer of 2006 tour. When Rally Across America ended, after successfully raising over $120,000 and visiting over 600 kids at 24 hospitals, it was apparent that the growing Rally Foundation needed someone to oversee the Rally Kids. Since then, she has continued to coordinate Rally Across America each summer in addition to working with the Rally Kids and families throughout the year.

While a student at the University of Georgia, Claire served as President of Internal Affairs of Wishmakers on Campus, overseeing fundraisers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the campus organization’s activities involving wish children. She has also volunteered with other organizations serving childhood cancer patients and continues to volunteer in her community.

Claire is an RN and holds a BS in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia, and she also uses her medical knowledge to assist with the Rally Research Grant application and award process.

Meet Jack

Jack is a four year-old who was diagnosed with a form of childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma. He underwent chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and tandem stem-cell transplants.

Currently off therapy and doing well, Jack loves music of all kinds. He is known for singing and dancing to silly songs. If he does not grow up to be a rock star, he is likely to become a scientist, having a love of experiments, puzzles and gadgets. Jack’s first love is his herd of stuffed “moo moos,” which travel everywhere with him.
